Student Librarians

Our team of Student Librarians, drawn from across Key Stages 3 and 4, play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day running of our school library. Working alongside our in-house librarian, they help to ensure that the space is well organised, welcoming and appropriately stocked, creating an environment where all learners feel encouraged to read, learn and explore.

The Student Librarians demonstrate what it means to be Motivated and Ambitious by taking on responsibility and supporting key literacy initiatives across the school. This includes helping to run our book fairs, promoting reading clubs, and organising events such as World Book Day.

They also show great Care for our school community, supporting younger pupils, helping others to find books they enjoy, and contributing to a positive and inclusive culture of reading.

Some members of the team are also part of the MACS Monthly editorial group, our school newspaper. These pupils meet every Tuesday lunchtime to create a publication that reports on key school news, promotes wellbeing activities and keeps our community informed. Through this, they develop confidence, teamwork and a strong sense of Self-Awareness, learning to reflect, communicate and take pride in their contributions.
