Dear Parent/Guardian,
I am writing to invite you to our Year 8 options evening on Thursday 9th February 2023. The evening will begin with a short talk in the Upper Hall at 4.00pm to outline the options process, followed by a visit to faculties where you will have an opportunity to discuss the KS4 subjects on offer with members of staff and to ask questions. A link to the option form and options brochure will be shared during the evening.
It is vital that pupils make informed and considered decisions and that they fully understand the requirements of the courses. As parents you have a very important role in helping and guiding your child during this process. It is extremely important that you attend the evening as it will provide you with the opportunity to speak with subject teachers about your child’s proposed choices next year. These choices will have a major bearing on his/her future employment and career prospects.
Year 8 parents’ evening will take place the following week on Thursday 16th February. This will be held in the Upper Hall between 3.30pm and 6.00pm. This evening has been arranged to give you the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress in his/her subjects this year. An appointment sheet will be given to pupils next week.
I am sure you will agree that this is an extremely important time in your child’s school life and I look forward to seeing you during both evenings.
