Moving from Primary to Secondary School can be a daunting thought for many Year 6 pupils and their parents and carers, here at Mountain Ash Comprehensive School we have a programme of events to make this process at little easier.
One of the main differences between Primary and Secondary school is the size of the school and therefore the number of pupils that attend. Usually you would come up to school and visit and get involved in some transition events. Due to the pandemic we are unable to offer that at this point in the year yet, but we have thought hard on how we can help you feel more at ease and we have created a virtual treasure hunt which starts to show you some areas of our school (this was broadcast live on Wednesday 10th February). We have saved the video to give everyone a chance to watch it again or if you were unable to see it live – take a look and you will see inside some areas of our school and meet some of our fantastic staff who will be working with you when you join us. Thank you to those who took part during the live broadcast and asked questions and helped us with clues!
We enjoyed making this so much we will be putting together some more events for you, if you have any queries or questions please contact me at grashoffj@hwbcymru.net or phone the school and leave a message at reception – 01443 479199.
In the meantime, stay safe and take care.
Mrs Jo Grashoff
