Dear parent/guardian,
As you may be aware, the COVID-19 mass testing pilot has recently been extended to cover the lower Cynon Valley area, which has seen some of the highest case rates in Wales. The pilot is available to anyone over the age of 11 who lives, works, or studies in the electoral wards of Abercynon, Penrhiwceiber, Mt. Ash East & West, or Aberaman South, and does NOT have symptoms of COVID-19 or is currently not self-isolating.
An estimated 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 will not have any symptoms, and it is vital that we are able to identify and isolate those who do not have symptoms in our communities to stop the chains of transmission and protect our family, friends and community.
In addition to giving your children consent to be tested, we would also urge you to visit your nearest Mass Testing Centre (currently the Cynon Valley Indoor Bowls Centre, Mountain Ash, or Abercynon Sports Centre) to have your own test, providing you do not have symptoms and are not currently self-isolating. The Centres are open 7 days a week from 9am to 7pm, with the last queuing space at 6:30pm. There is no need to book and the process is quick and painless. Please get a test and play your part in keeping your friends and family safe.

Mae disgwyl na fydd gan 1 o bob 3 o bobl sydd â COVID-19 unrhyw symptomau, ac mae’n hanfodol ein bod ni’n nodi’r unigolion yma ac yn sicrhau eu bod nhw’n ynysu er mwyn atal y cadwyni trosglwyddo a diogelu ein teuluoedd, ein ffrindiau a’r gymuned.
Yn ogystal â rhoi caniatâd i’ch plant gael prawf, rydyn ni hefyd yn eich annog chi i ymweld â’ch Canolfan Profi Torfol agosaf (Canolfan Bowlio Dan Do Dyffryn Cynon, Aberpennar, neu Ganolfan Chwaraeon Abercynon ar hyn o bryd) i gael eich prawf eich hun, ar yr amod nad oes gyda chi symptomau ac nad ydych chi’n hunanynysu ar hyn o bryd. Mae’r Canolfannau ar agor 7 diwrnod yr wythnos rhwng 9am a 7pm, gyda’r ciw yn cau am 6:30pm. Does dim angen cadw lle mae’r broses yn gyflym ac yn ddi-boen. Mynnwch brawf er mwyn helpu i gadw’ch ffrindiau a’ch teulu yn ddiogel.
