GCSE and A Level Results

Dear Parents/Carers,

AS/A2 and GCSE Results Days

The dates for external examination results are as follows:-

  • AS/A2 results will be released on Thursday 13th August 2020.
  • GCSE results will be released on Thursday 20th August 2020.

Due to the current restrictions and social distancing requirements in place for Covid-19, the collection of external examination results will be different to normal.

We would like to offer all pupils in Year 11, 12 and 13 the opportunity to come to school to collect their results in person. Parents should not enter the building, but should ring the school to make an appointment if there is a specific issue to discuss. We ask that both pupils and parents adhere to social distancing whilst on site.

Pupils should report to reception, where they will be admitted into the Upper Hall to collect results at the allocated times outlined below:-

Surnames A-J:  8.30a.m. – 10.30a.m.

Surnames K-Z: 10.30a.m. – 12.30p.m.

If pupils are unable to collect results in person, they will be posted home.

Results for pupils in Year 10 will be posted home.  All posted results should arrive by Friday 14th/ Friday 21st for AS/A2 and GCSE results, respectively.

This year, pupils will be receiving ‘centre assessed grades’. This means that the school has used pupils’ work and assessments across the course to award grades. Pupils and parents may only appeal if they feel that an error has been made such as incomplete evidence or incorrect information has been used. The appeal process and form will be given out/ posted out with pupil results and should be returned to the school within ten working days. An electronic version will also be available on the school website following each of the results days.

I wish to assure you that as a school we have done everything that we can to ensure that your child’s results will be a fair reflection of what they would have received if they had been able to sit the exam.

I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of all of the staff and Governors at Mountain Ash Comprehensive School, to wish our pupils all the very best for their results day.

Yours sincerely

Mrs S.J.Evans
