AS/A2 and Btec Results

Mountain Ash Comprehensive School have been celebrating a superb set of A level results. Over 50 students sat exams this summer and the school registered a 99% pass rate with over 70% of the results being at C and above. 20% of the results were at A or B level. Headteacher Huw Lloyd said “These results are outstanding and reflect the hard work and dedication of all students and staff. I am particularly pleased that all students got in to their first choice universities, and also that a number of our students have been successful in obtaining places on sought after apprenticeships, and work based training. These results can only mean good news for Mountain Ash and the Cynon Valley as more students than ever before pursue careers in further education and training”. Pauline Jarman, Chair of Governors said “I’m delighted with these outstanding results, and wish to congratulate all students and staff for their hard work” 

Some results are worth mentioning;

Hannah Bunney is going to Cardiff University to study English Literature Hannah obtained an A* in Geography, A in History, B in English and an A in Welsh Bac

Jack Winder is going to Cardiff University to study English Literature Jack obtained an A in History, B in English Literature and a B in Geography.

Shauna Selway is going to Bournemouth to study Art. Shauna obtained an A* in Art and a B in English Literature.

Stephanie Howells is going to University of South Wales to study Psychology with Counselling. Stephanie obtained an A in History, B in English Literature, and a B in RS.

Georgia Summerill Year 12 obtained an A in PE, an A in Biology and a B in Chemistry at AS Level

Connor Hughes Year 12 obtained 3A’s at AS level.

Jack Thickett who is in Year 11 obtained an A in AS Maths.
